The Middle East is an area where automobile is king and fuel is cheap, frequently leaving little reward to discover more environmentally-friendly methods of walking around.

But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have pressed up the price of oil, the problem of finding alternative sources of fuel has entered into .

In a region that has one of the greatest carbon footprints worldwide, one company is taking advantage of the growing pressure to find options to oil. It's established the Middle East's first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving lucrative too, currently their client-list contains McDonald's.
